Well I thought it was time for another update since the last time I posted it was an interview from Randy Ingermanson. I will catch you up on what is going on with my writing. You will find the updates posted also on the update page.
Facade Crusades:
The biggest development has in this series. That past week I have really been hammering out the mythology in more depth. As of right now I am done with the mythology, though I am sure I will need to come back and add somethings once the outlines for the books are done. It is funny how the last time I did an update it was around the same time I started working on this book series again. I am happy to say that the five books are going to be a very solid unit.
Starting today Monday December 21st, 2009, I should be starting the outline of the first book, which is already written. The question becomes what do I keep from the first draft and change now that I know how the story all fits together. I know where some of the changes will be, just need to put the outline together. I am not to worried about this book since I have a full manuscript as a reference. It is Book 2 and 4 and partly 5 that I am more worried about since I have only thoughts in my head. Book 3 I has been in set what happens for a while now just need to reorganize that one. My goal is to get all five outlines completed in the remaining 2 weeks I have before I leave for Basic Training. This way when I am done with basic and at tech school and have free time I can start rewriting the first book.
The Gathering:
The new project The Gathering I am still working on, but it is coming in pieces. If anything the process reminds me of when I first began writing Marks of Eilira. I got about four chapters in with no clue where I was going. Only differences with this story I have and idea just no clear end for the first book. Which is okay since I am still processing it and working through it in my head. Trying to get a clear enough though process on the story to start typing up the notes I have on how things work. I am still writing and will continue it is mostly seat of the pants writing which goes against how I write, but I am enjoying doing it. I will continue to do that until I no longer feel I can write without an outline guiding me.
Marks of Eilira:
The second draft is still not completed. Reading through Randy’s book Writing Fiction for Dummies, I realized that since I have been home with my parents I have lost all desire to really work on that story as well other for the most part. He talks about your work place should be a place you are you most creative. I once was creative here, but now I am not. I have learned a few things I need to write in the mythology to make it work so I am working that, the finishing of the second draft will have to wait until after I am don with Basic Training and maybe even a little longer then that.
Valeo (Forbidden Realm Series):
I have changed the name of the Forbidden Realm Series finally to something that fits the whole series not just the first arch. I would tell you what it means in Latin, but if you really want to know just copy and pasted it into a online translator. As for the progress in this is slow. I am slowly working on it, but it is mostly updating character profiles for the first arch Forbidden Realm. It is amazing how out of date these characters back stories are. Some of them I can’t update until I finish updating the time line of events. This is going slowly, but I work on it from time to time. This is not a big focus since the deadline for this series is ten years to finish it and made. So I got sometime before I really need to work on it.
War Tribes TCG:
Yes another series that has been renamed from World of War. It was too close to Worlds of Warcraft so I changed it to fit more with the game. Since we call the different races tribes why not War Tribes. I have made some big progress in this series, I have updated the entire packet of information on how things work. I finally figured out the gameplay. It only took me to buy some Pokemon Cards and the next thing I know I am sitting at my deck playing the game and figuring it out as I go. Once I had the basic play through I was able to go through all the other things we have in place and change them to fit the new structure. I am currently waiting for feedback from Matt Terboss who is my partner in working on this game. He help create two of the four tribes we now have. I am working on a fifth, but still letting the idea soak in for it. I am happy this game has made some progress.
Echoes:
I started working out the mythology of this TV series, but I can really only do so much if this is going to be made into a TV series I need to be flexible in what I write now and what the writing staff get to come up. My thoughts are to write out the mythology how I want it then update it and related actual myths in the world, which could be done when it is an actual TV series. Well I should say if, but I am sure if I get it written to the point where I could write a good pilot I could sell it. But I need to know how to write a script so I am holding off on this series getting made and focusing on getting published first.
Karley:
This movie is officially on Hold, until I have time to really learn how to write a script. When that time comes I will pick up the outline and dust it off and write it. I love the story so I just need the skills to write it in the proper format.
